Bad sound quality in prototype

Im not sure what is wrong during game play it is perfect but in the cutscences and the menu i hear this horrible static i reinstalled drivers even and it doesnt do this in ANY other program

Nothing is wrong…It’s the game..It’s very buggy when it comes to the Audio…Maybe a patch will be released soon..

me to noo sound at all, i got X-fi music, then i tried with integrated Realtek ALC 888 audio card, but still no sound

If you have no sound at all then install the latest DirectX March 2009 redistributable.

Also try cracking up the volume of the speaker, even on the max volume setting I have problems hearing sounds of Prototype.

Yes..That’s a common problem with this game…You need to increase the volume to the max to hear anything..Maybe an update will be released soon..

One option you could try which I have seen work with a few games: open dxdiag (Start Menu > Run… > dxdiag > OK)
Go to Sound and change the slider which I would presume has “Full Accelleration”. Take that down a notch to “Standard Accelleration”
