Avid Dongle

hi i’ve just download avid media composer 2.77. it says that i need a dongle. i don’t really know what to do. do i need to download anything or buy something?
i really need some help because i gotta do some editing for a university project

im trying to patch this software, but i honestly have never done it before. it says “after CD-ing to the “AVID MC 3.1.2 patch FINAL””
what exactly does it mean to CD something? my apologies for my uber n00bism

I think you just have to put the patch in the same folder with the AvidMediaComposer.exe file that starts the application (usually C:Program Files\Avid\Avid Media Composer) and hit “patch” or overwrite the .exe. There is also a dongle emulator out there that works great.
