Are My Windows Ratings Good ?
July 31st, 2016
its a amd fx 4100 quad core 3.6ghz
Yeah they are typical numbers. According to mine, my CPU is the bottleneck lol.
It doesn’t tell you that much, it merely depends on the hardware your using.
considering that 7.9 is the max , the score of 5.9 is still ok-ish.
As for the CPU , mine is a i7-3770k , rating at 7.7 :
The overall question is : which games , which resolution, etc. do you want to run ?
An SSD would make the world of difference to your Primary Hard Disk rating, but more importantly it would make a hell of a difference to you.

5.9 is usually the score with a hard drive. My scores are:
7.5
7.6
7.9
7.9
7.9
WEI is kind of misleading and rubbish, really, for an average computer user that knows nothing about computers.
I’d say its an acceptable reference.
question is are my ratings any good, are quad cores still future proof with gaming ?

Well my AMD Phenom II X4 Quad 965 Black edition is overclocked to 3.8 plus my Ram is overclocked via bios.
& I’m getting Processor = 7.4 Memory = 7.8 GTX 570 = 7.9 & Western Digital Caviar Black = 5.9
So yes Quad are good for gaming and ya scores are good
I wouldnt mind over clocking my CPU but i dont know if my motherboard would support it end of the day i dont want to burn my stuff out

Good motherboard for overclocking is the one i have SABERTOOTH 990FX

So if i bought that could i over clock my cpu with no issues ?

Yes and to aid you just check YouTube out or any forums for guidance it’s quite easy actually… just a couple of alterations in bios and i mean couple

A SSD will give you a nice overall score to show your friends
Any reasonable board should be OK to overclock, you would need better than a stock cooler though.
Google “overclocking the fx4100” to get ideas on how others are doing it.
Cool Man Thanks
Im thinking of buying the 8 core if i buy the mother board as its a shame to put a quad core in such a nice mother board
its going to be a 4.0ghz processor reckon i could push it to 4.5 but would i need a better heat sync ?
Good heatsink to keep the VRM’s happy.

Yes i use this one http://www.noctua.at/main.php?show=productview&products_id=34&lng=en
compatible with Intel and AMD will fit Sabertooth
FX8350, Sabertooth 990FX, Corsair H80 4.9 GHz (CPU Ratio 24.5, CPU Bus Freq 200, 1.48v, LLC Auto, VRM Spread Spectrum Disabled), don’t push the voltage much more as the temps get too high, just a guide as each chip is different.
That gives a 7.8 score for processor.
Here is my score
i5 2500k overclocked
radeon 6970
8 gigs of ram
Vertex 4 ssd
sometimes I wonder how they calculate these things;
[img] oops.can’t work out how to include screenshot;
cpu = 7.5
ram 7.5
graphics = 7.9
gaming = 7.9
primary hdd = 6.9
i7 950 @ 3.07
radeon 6970
12 gb g skills cl9 raptor ram
ocx 64 ssd
so, why aren’t my ram scores better than ‘s and relative to the ssd drive why is mine only 6.9 compared to the 7.9 of ?
D things boot quicker with an ssd ?

Various factors such as Ram speed, different SSD’s have different read/write speed, unfortunately for you the smaller SSD’s tend to have slower speeds.
think I found out how to post image;
My results.
Since everyone else is posting them (not the 8350 quoted previously), Win 8 rating obviously.

Maybe you only have SATA II for the SSD ?

On my Sabertooth to increase the speed of the Memory I just upped the CPU-NB = 2600Mhz & now when I open most applications they open twice as quick plus that’s why i get 7.8 in windows Experience Corsair 8GB 1600MHz DDR3.
