Application cracks false positive?

Just been thinking, about cracks and key gens, not a very exciting thing.
When its posted its a false flag and is not a virus how do we know that its kosher?
Because it will be a great idea for hacker(S) to post amazing software with a crack but hidden in it is malware
I find it hard to understand when a keygen is detected by anti virus software, because all it is essentially an algorithm calculator.
Another thing i have spotted is that, when a post has 100’s of thank yous etc there all mostly new users…
So my question for the day/evening is…..
Does warez bb allow hacked software with the intention of hackers to install malware to be posted and was it designed for that propose? or for our enjoyment?
of course I understand fully the implications of downloading cracked stuff,
I would like to think that, people who write cracks,key gens and the like are only doing so for the good of man kind…
what are your thoughts?

the way to tell is, if you are not skilled enough to detect ACTUAL malware, is to let others comments on the crack guide you. many cracks DO come up as a FALSE positive, and NO, REAL malware is NOT allowed on this board at all, and should be reported!.

Exactly.
Also, look for releases from the same team, if they have multiple releases with positive feedback then they’ll most likely be reliable.
If you’re really unsure, try running it in Sandboxie.

It’s quite hard.
Just because someone here says it’s clean, does not make it clean.
If find it like this:
There are ‘trustworthy’ people here, kissme1, awesome, nameless, and so on – their stuff is clean (I still check it though, and maybe upload to virus total).
The posts from people with very low post counts, I check with multiple checks – Eset/virus total/jottis, etc. And still treat with a pinch of salt.
If there is any doubt, don’t use it, simple as that.
NO game or program is worth the emptying of your bank account.
