Antivirus program and firewall for Windows 8 64bit?

I have already tried Kaspersky antivirus and comodo firewall which isnt working and gives BSOD errors. And windows firewall and windows defendor isnt that good. So what could be a good alternative antivirus and firewall?

there is no official windows 8 only developer release. thats why you get BSOD’s go for a proper windows release.

Why would anyone normal use operating system that is in Pre-Beta (alpha) state?

well just for learning purpose, i tried Eset Nod32 smart security. It worked.

Maybe MSE and Windows firewall would work OK too…
