Adapter for my printer

August 5th, 2016

I have an old printer with that long rectangle output cord. However, my PC dose not have an input plug where I can jack it into. I need a printer to usb adapter. My printer has 24 pins, if that helps. Can anyone tell me how to look for an adapter that will be compatible with my needs?

hmmm…you are talking about a parallel or a serial printer…Those are antique now…It’s not worth the hustle…Usb printers are so cheap today…
Answer #2
Inform on those two types of printers. I’m not sure which one i have. Money is an issue. My dad said no to a no to a new printer, deal with the one you have now.

Umm, if its larger than your monitor cable, its a Parallel cable, if its about the same size/smaller, its serial. There are many serial to USB hubs/cables, and same goes with parallel
Parallel to USB:

Serial to USB: http://www.google.com/products?q=Serial+to+USB&hl=en
As you can see, serial to USB is more expensive, and with 20 more dollars, you can get your self a decent USB color printer… ~Blaze

Cables available but probably not worth the hassle as you can buy new printers for the cost of the ink !
