Bios Problem.

August 5th, 2016

ok so i have an acer aspire one, and recently installed windows xp home using usb.
So everytime i open my pc, before the bootscreen i get the options.
– Windows XP Home
– Windows XP Home
– USB Repair
I have to use the first xp home option cz it works, the second one gives me this error something like “windows not properly installed”
iwanna make it so it always chooses the first one.

Answer #1
You should be able to remove the references to the second windows install in the boot ini config. Just dont remove the wrong one.
Answer #2
Heres my boot.ini
[Boot Loader]
timeout=30
Default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[Operating Systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect

I removed the last 2 partitions and still got the option screen upon restart. A little help from here would be appreciated.
Answer #3
If you wanna do it through Windows:
Rightclick “My Computer”
Properties.
Advanced Tab
Startup and Recovery section.
Now you can select whether or not you want a choice to be given or not.
