can i carry my steam with me … ?

ok guys so i am about to do some domestic traveling in the near future and i want to carry my steam with me i have a passport HD 120GB i wanna know if i put my steam dir in it can i play my games anywhere i go with internet and a good pc ? or is there a procedure

Well it worked for me, I just backed up the steam apps directory with the large gcf files (I believe) then installed Steam after I reformatted and replaced that folder.
