Forwarding Ports / Virtual server
August 5th, 2016
I need to port forward so i can host crap, like websites (soon L.A.M.P), game servers, torrenting etc.. But i’m getting confused.. people say my IP (whatismyip.com) isn’t my IP.. and then they said my IP is 192.168.1.1.100…
So now i’m trying to host a halo game.. so i went to my router admin panel( http://192.168.1.1), and enabled 2302 port on 192.168.1.1.100.. then saved, but no beans, no one would connect within 5 minuites..
Do i have to add my IP(from whatismyip.com) somewhere manually to make it show the ports or something?
help!!
You just have to enter your port like 12345 then choose TCP or UDP and your IP (that is like 192.168.1.5). When it is done you should say your friends that shown in whatismyip.com as your IP address.
So i use 192.168.1.1.100:2302 for hosting server? — It doesn’t work when i tried it
I have the same problem as you bryce, i have followed eveything which is on “portforward.com” when i load my halo dedicated server its shown in the lobby list and also has a ping but only i can join…also when im in the server and i press F1 for info ect the port number is “2301” and im sure it should be “2302” anyhelp would be appreciated.
Ah.. i learned how to do it..
