Answer #2
some music i know exactly how to do music cd’s as ive done them plenty of time before, but this is a diferent pc i have just got and when it gets half way through the burn process it fails with burn process failed at 40x (6,000 KB/s).
Answer #3
And u tried multiple times? Then it wasn’t a dirty cd. Try to burn with windows media player and c if it does same thing, if it works then it was a problem with nero
Answer #4
yep it also fails with wmp aswell. i forgot to mention before. the cd’s i have work fine burning on my laptop, the only diferent things i could say the pc has is a diferent version of nero to my laptop. i use nero 7 on my laptop, i might reinstall a diferent version of nero to my pc, if that doesnt work then it must be my cd drives? but they can’t both be shot? surely. anyway it has my head mashed. LOL
Answer #5
It only takes one of your drives to fail to screw the whole process up.OK heres what you do……before you burn, turn the speeds down to about 16….Its possible that your drive dont really support burning at 40x.
Let me know pls
Answer #6
Thanks for that mate. ive now changed it to 16x for a burn, and it works perfect!!! my last question would be, is there a way to set the speed to 16x so that it burns at that speed each time? or do i have to select it manualy each time as iam haveing to do that now.? Thank you very much.
Answer #7
Thanks for that mate. can you explain to me how to turn the speeds down please? i don't have a clue when it goes into technical stuff like this. my name says it all . lol thanks
the write speed of the music your writing is the “speeds”.
if it doesnt work on a lower speed it could be either the CD’s you are using or even a bad CD drive.
iv encountered this myself .

I use Ashampoo for burning data and music etc…once its set ..its set permanently no need to keep changing the write speeds.I dont know about nero,Ive encountered problems in the past with my old PC back then.
Anyhow..buy CD-R`s that have a max write speeds of 52x and quality discs,But you`re cd/dvd drive has to support that speed,Other wise clock down a speed if you`re burning soure>destination drive.
