PS3 HDMI audio problem

I have a problem with my HDMI audio in PS3. the audio works fine on PS3 and when I watch netflix but when I try to play (for example COD) the audio does not work. I tried with different games and same problem.
Does anybody know how to solve this problem?

Found Two fixes:
1) restore the default settings. If that doesn’t work, configure the audio output settings manually under settngs>sound settings>Audio Ouput Settings
2) Went into the audio settings on the PS3
Selected the the HDMI option
Did the manual set up and unselected the Dolby Digital option

the problem was with Dolby Digital option, I just unchecked it. it works now
