How can I use my Samsung 32 inch LCD TV as a 2nd monitor?

February 25th, 2014

I just recently bought a Samsung 32 inch 1080p LCD TV which I am trying to use as a 2nd monitor. I ran a VGA cable from the back of the graphics card with 2 extension cables running from the VGA cable to the back of the TV. I am doing this until I get at least a 15 ft HDMI cable. So I right clicked on the desktop and then went to settings and then I clicked on the 2nd display. So when I loaded Angry Birds Seasons all i could see is the wallpaper image on the TV but not the game. Someone told me I need to go to the PC’s VGA settings so I can send the video signal to the TV.

open it and drag it to the right side of your desktop
if it starts to appear from the left side of the TV then your running “extend desktop”, which means your desktop covers both monitors

to view applications such as games you need to set it as primary display… it is possible to do it in the resolution change gui of window 7

Most games these days support multiple monitors, or at least have a windowed mode. You should be able to select the monitor in game, or drag the game over. I do all my gaming in one of my secondary monitors.

What ever you want over there. With multiple displays, you just drag windows from monitor to monitor.

Yep.
You might have to do this for some older games.

This is new to me that’s why I am asking all these questions. I previously had a Samsung 19 inch TV which I currently use at the office. At the time it didn’t make sense to use the tv as my main display when I already have a 24 inch monitor. With the Samsung 32 inch games are going to look really awesome.

You would think. I got 2 buddies now that bought a TV to hook up to their PC and play games on. Only took them a couple weeks to realize it was better gaming on the 24″ LCD. Now they just use the TV as a secondary monitor, lol.
