USB Drive DT101 G2 – 64 GB – Kingston – Write Protect Error

October 24th, 2013

My friend bought a USB Drive DT101 G2 – 64 GB – Kingston but its showing Write Protect Error.
I searched on Google about it but didn’t find any good thing to remove protection.
There are registry tweak and a software “UrDrive” from Kingston but both didn’t work.
Will you guys advise how to unlock / remove protection?

I’ve had a couple of pen-drives go like that in the past, despite eveything I tried nothing would work, so ended up RMA’ing them.

Tried it to format with NTFS? Maybe that can help!
Answer #5
already try to format on NTFS but it didn’t help
Answer #6
Did you try a low level format ?
chances are it’s a duff controller inside the flash drive, just get a replacement from the seller if it’s still in warranty.

I asked my friend to return it and get new one. He bought just 2 days ago.
I tried every possible things to get it work but nothing happened.
Thanks to all of you for your help.
