If a part inside your monitor breaks, you shouldn’t open the monitor to fix it. There are capacitors inside of it that can electrocute you. There is also a vaccum tube inside made of glass that can explode.

actually it’s the high tension coil that can kill you
temp fix
try changing your refresh rate or desktop size
some monitor use diff circuits for diff refresh rate and/or size
you can usually hear a “pouing” (electronic switch noise) if the circuit changes
some make that noise when you boot and it switches from OS loading screen to desktop
but yeah I agree with , the monitor is on it’s way out
and there’s really nothing you can do about it

yah i can hear that noise on pouning. …
Answer #6
then maybe it’s that switch that is bad
any I’ve seen tho the switch is part of the circuit board, not replaceable
Answer #7
same here man,
and that’s awful for me ,and I go most of the times when it happens.
damn the new generation idiot box.
hey Mac & Eddy, would this be a driver issue in any case ??
as I read some articles regarding it while I googled it.
what ya say ?

cathode ray tubes implode not explode as they are full of very little only vacuum but the result is pretty much the same

quick question..
are you sure you have the latest video card drivers
and
Do you have one video card or 2?
if you have 2 disable SLI or CROSSFIRE
set your resolution then re enalbe sli or crossfire.
your monitor is fine because it powers up.
I had the same exact problem and installed the latest drivers and it worked itself out.

from his symptoms I still think it’s the monitor
, you have another PC to try the monitor on
seen some weird stuff on CRT’s
my sony 21″ would turn the screen of at times, the upper
hated to see that 1 go
Answer #11
last night when i turned my Monitor there was no display… just power button led is on… nothing visual.. after that i attached my old monitor which came with my old 486 in 1995. tat monitor is working the same as it did in past. this clears on thing that problem is in monitor. Should i go and consult any repair shop? Is it worthy?
Answer #12
Nah…cost of repairs not justified these days…
You might find a good used one around cheap…or lash out for a nice new LCD….remembering that you can still use it if you upgrade your PC
Answer #13

cheaper to get a new flat pa, not worth repairing a CRT
I’m with .::. on this one
