Resizing a partition in W7 / SOLVED!

Hi!
I have a W7 installed on my HP machine. I want to resize the main partition [~ 480 Gb] but I cannot using the integrated application [Control Panel -> Admin. Tools -> bla-bla…] so I have to use something “external” of W7 to do so.
I have 220 Gb free on the target partition and I wanna shrink the size and to add some extra room for the second partition [we’re talking here about a SINGLE HDD].
What am I supposed to use to resize the main partition securely? [I’ve heard that sometimes the MBR file is right at the end of the partition and it cannot be moved; is that true?]

burn pmagic onto a disc (or usb stick)

then use gparted and resize the partitions you want.
