Internet slow when download

It seems like Verizon is slowing down my internet whenever i download. I have a real fast internet connection and never have had any problems until i download. Is there a way i can block that or switch something off that shows me downloading? Thanx guys

what type of download are you talking about?…browser based?…IDM?…or torrent?

use IDM it have best downloading speed.

I think they mean their connection is being throttled. I’m in the same boat atm I doubt there is much you can do, as how can you hide that you’re downloading. You may be able to hide WHAT you’re downloading, but not the actual activity of doing it.

Where are you downloading from? Have a test and see if it’s only on certain sites or all. Try some legit sites and see how that goes

IDM stand for Internet Download Manager (can be found here also)
It will download the max speed allowed (depend on host)
Verizon might putted a throttled on your connection. Which a few company does that and its really annoying.
Try IDM and a different host to see what is the problem.

This site doesn’t host any files. They were asking what host you are using to get slow speeds, or is it all of them.

Do you mean it’s slowing during the download, or slow after the download?
If it’s during, there’s nothing you can do about this besides capping your own download speed. Internet bandwidth works like water though a pipe, there’s only so much that can get through at once. If you use 90% of it downloading, only 10% is available for other Internet activities (browsing, games, etc).
If it’s after, it’s probably due to throttling and fair usage. You can confirm this by running a speedtest first thing in the morning before downloading anything, then after a download when you feel it’s going slow

These throttling policies only usually apply during the day, so the way around it is to wait until the night (10pm+) and do your downloading then
