Xbox 360 firmware and latest games

Hi peeps. I had my 360 banned time ago which had old custom firmware on it. It could play wave 4 games if I put a activate iso. disk in first. I played games on my other 360 that wasn’t banned so I could go online. But now I don’t go online much coz it used to take over my social life. I’ve now gone back to console gaming but don’t go online so I’m gona just download all my games for my old xbox banned console but can I just use my old firmware with the activate iso. disk or will I have to update my firmware to the latest? I want to play games such as gears 3 and dead island. Although I’m defo gnu get battlefield and cod mw3 on my other box for online. Thanks for ur help people

games are starting to be released on a new disc format, the first being driver: san fransico most likely those other games u mentioned[apart from dead island which is not on the new fotmat] will be on the new format as they are big releases, but u will have to see when they leak. To play these games u will have to reflash your xbox to the new f/w LT 2.0 which isnt released yet but should be soon.
c4eva the guy who creates the f/w recently said it 2.0 will be out soon.
