Windows Media Center Keeps Opening!

I can’t open ANYTHING on my mams computer, everything i click opens up windows media center, example.. internet explorer / firefox…. everything tbh, apart from folders.. all EXE files open up Windows Media Center, i can’t even get to “System Restore” if i search it in the start menu, and click it.. surprise surprise: Windows Media Center! it just wont stop opening, i can barely get acces to anything.. does anybody know how i can fix this without re-installing windows 7 because it has 800+ gig of stuff on that i need.

what about trying the repair option which you put the dvd in and start system up just like a reinstall ?
But check for virus and malware before doing it

I found that this problem has been happening to a few ppl
One remedy that worked was doing SFC /SCANNOW
Windows button > RUN, type in sfc /scannow
Its the system file checker

try a system restore form the DVD
or from the F8 menu
or if you can still import .reg files try this

try running task manager and hit file/run and put this in “rstrui.exe”

If a system restore doens’t fix this. You might want to open a ticket with MS Support. If you have a original serial. If not. I suggest reinstalling a Windows 7 professional or any version as long as its not ultimate or enterprise.
