Window Live Messenger 2009 build 14 (Error 80040154)

I followed the troubleshoot help from window live. Yet, it’s not working! I downloaded he 2009 live from a site, because Microsoft released there 2011 essential tools and I hate that MSN.
So please help me with that error 80040154 when connecting to msn. Thanks.

I used to have a similar problem on my vaio and the troubleshooting help didn’t do anything. I used an automatic tool to fix it and worked first time. Busy searching what it was I used and will post back when I find it.

If it’s connecting, since MSN Messenger runs through IE, check your IE Proxy, maybe you have a broken proxy, I had that problem awhile ago.

This file from microsoft has helped many people with the same error. Just open it and run the msi file inside. It’s RS file as official link doesn’t work.
