Which package is better?

September 5th, 2013

We were offered with two desktop packages; one Intel, the other AMD. I don’t know much about computer hardware and the like so I would like to know which package would make gaming a better experience or make a really better PC overall. Aside from gaming, I will also be using the computer for general stuff. Making videos, burning DVD’s, Photoshop, watching movies and blah blah.
I can only give you this information since I don’t know any further info about it.
19, 9995.00 Pesos or around $460

Intel CORE i5-2200 2.0GHz

220GB HDD SATA
Super Multi DVD-Writer
ATX Casing with 600W PSU
A4Tech Keyboard & Mouse
16″ Flat LED Monitor
Free: Speaker/AVR 500W
14,995.00 Pesos or around $345
AMD GAMING PACKAGE
AMD Athlon X2 250 2.0GHz
AMD N0BC-S MOTHERBOARD
2GB DDR2 PC1232 MEMORY
220GB HDD SATA
1GB PCIE VIDEO CARD DDR2
ATC Casing w/ 600W PSU
A4TECH KEYBOARD & MOUSE
16″ Flat LED Monitor

I might have copied some incorrectly, sorry. >.< We already have a 23″ Monitor (HP 2311f), so maybe we can take the monitor off the package and replace it with another item.
I’m guessing the unspecific ones are our choice. If you can, please list the pros and cons. Thank you. 🙂

Intel package is better than AMD, Intel package doesn’t include Graphics card and the AMD package Graphics card isn’t specific
Answer #2
Any specific reasons? I heard AMD is specifically for gaming, but Intel does seems to be a better choice.

AMD Athlon is a old processor
P.S – Your best option is to build your own PC
Answer #4
I see where you’re going about. Since the Intel package isn’t offering any graphics card, we could choose our own whereas the AMD package is limited to a 1GB graphics card, correct?

AMD package does offer a 1GB Graphics card but it doesn’t specific which model
Answer #6
AMD Always Best for Gaming. But AMD X2 Old processor equivalent core2Duo. so u can choose Intel i5.
Answer #7
But, as what was said, AMD Athlon is an old processor, so Intel would be a better choice in that regard. It would be nice to build my own PC but I don’t know jack about computers.

I’m afraid we are limited with what our area has to offer on computer equipment and technicians aren’t much help either. And money. lol But, thank you for the suggestions.
EDIT: So, my father is convincing me to choose the AMD package because the technician said the Intel package is for animations – rendering and stuff while the AMD package is really for gaming. Hmmm

If you could afford to add a low-mid range grafix card to the Intel, it would not be too bad…Cost around $100..

I wonder if those are available in our area?
@|Leader|: I’m guessing your processor isn’t an AMD Athlon.
