They are all LCD mate.
LED is simply a type of light used as backlight for the screen (marketing has made this v confusing for customers).
The important thing is the panel in the monitor itself rather than the type of backlight used.
How much money are you looking to spend on the screen?
And what country?
If you can afford it then the DELL 2312HM is a excellent buy.
At a lower price range then the LG IPS235V is a good choice.
Cheaper than these you will be looking at low end TN panel screens.
EDIT: just realized you said “no more than 20” and not “over 20″
Any special reason for this? 23” is not massive.

I got an Acer H203H 20-inch at Best Buy a while back when it was on sale for $100 and I had a gift card for half of it. It might not be on sale anymore (probably isn’t) but I couldn’t imagine the price going any lower. 1600×900 resolution, DVI (no HDMI unfortunately).

Do you have to buy new, plenty of good monitors on ebay that would still last years.
I brought a dell for 50 quid, and a couple of years back it would of cost me 200.
Do you have to buy new one?

There is a trick with Dell Order online and wait a few hours… Call order support and say you want to cancel the order. Just by keeping the order they will offer you $15 or more. I remember purchasing my monitor from Dell and they gave me $15 which was credited back to my card + free shipping. So the $15 covered the tax and more I also bought a desktop from Dell and they gave me back $50 to keep it!
Tip: Never accept the first $ offer. They will offer you more on the second. This trick has worked every time with me, just be confident and somewhat cocky lol

Not good.
Save up a bit more cash until you can afford a decent monitor.
It’s the one thing you use 100% of the time when using a computer, so it makes sense not to cheap out on it.
What are your main uses for the PC?

This sounds like hard earned money… I’d also suggest you save up, there may be more important things to buy in life than a new monitor for gaming – further, at that price there are not many decent monitors in any size.
