Vista shared drive on network

I just set up my Vista network…I had an extra HD on the computer so I shared it on the network…when I get on my laptop and try to connect to it…it won’t let me…says I don’t have permission or something…however it will let me get on the public shared files … the shared files that vista automatically sets up…
but I did go to the network settings and told it to allow everyone on my shared stuff…so I am trying to figure out why it won’t allow me access…

Check there is no firewall blocking the network connection from both sides…
