Video Framerate Drops

May 5th, 2014

For the past couple of days videos that I watch on my PC have been suffering from a stuttering issue.
Running fraps shows that for the most part the videos are running at 120 FPS but during the stuttering it drops to 60.
It happens whether I am running other programs or not. Before this, I could play high spec games and watch a movie with no issue to either.
My specs are 3.40 gigahertz Intel Core i7-2600, 6GB RAM and two 1GB GTX460s. My monitors (if that helps at all) are two Alienware Optx.
Thanks.

We need more info on this… What kind of videos do you watch when this happens?
Your system specs are top, so it’s weird that something like this is happening…
Without having more info I would try these:
1) A decoder problem, try using something else. My config consists of coreAVC + KMPlayer.
2)Go to Task Manager->Performance->Resource Manager and look for any bottleneck, especially in the HDD area.
3)Change drivers for your graphic cards and enable cuda in case you’ve missed it.
These are on top of my head but you’ve got to be more specific…
Good luck mate…
