Video converter: .avi/.mkv/.mp4 to iPod touch 2g extension

Can somebody help me with this: I need a good video converter to convert all my movies to an iPod touch 2g extension. I’ve got some movies in mp4 that I can import in iTunes, but I can’t put them on my iPod. Only two movies worked on my iPod. There’s an option in iTunes to convert your imported movies to an iPod version, but when I do that it only converts the sound and the screen is all white…

You could also try Xillisoft HD Video Converter, it has lot’s of iPod profiles etc and does a good job when encoding.
