vbulletin forum help?
August 4th, 2016
However 1 minor issue that is annoying me is the account validation.
Basically whenever someone goes to create a new account, an email is dispatched to their email address, however for example on hotmail services, the email sent from the vbulletin forum will appear in their “junk email” folder. They need to validate their account by visiting a link, however some people forget to checm thier junk email folders which has an imapct on the number of registrations made.
So is there anyway i can sort this problem out?
Thankyou in advance.
Umm well do you really nid the validation? Cuz if not you can just turn it off so you wouldn’t have to worry about it.
well it is beneficial, for example if we change domain names, or if the site is down for a really long time and then we get it back up, we can restore our backups and email registered members. If we didnt have their email address we would not be able to this.
BUt yes if all else fails we will turn off validation but if anyone could come up with a solution then it would be appreciated.
Eh? If you turn off the membership validation users will still be required to enter a email.
If you are running a legit copy of vBulletin, you can search the forums for help. I just did and found very useful information here:

One of the things you can do, which is what we do at our site, is configure the email message that is sent to new members to remind the new member to check their JUNK or SPAM folder. There are so many email services that have so many different spam filters, that it would be near impossible to bypass them. If they could be bypassed, the spammers would do it.
Two solutions :-
1- Use SMTP sending through an e-mail account on Gmai or Hotpop ( wont be spam unless reported ) because Hotmail takes any PHP e-mail sending as a spam
2- Edit the after registeration message to ” Check your Junk/Bulk” to confirm !!
