Updating virus definitions on cracked Antivirus

October 2nd, 2021

Hey everyone. I’ve always been a little confused by this. I’ve never used a cracked AV before. I’ve always used either free versions or paid for subscriptions. I have no intentions of using a cracked av, but I’ve always been curious by this. How do people update the virus definitions on a cracked av without being tracked? I would think when you download the new definitions that it would log your IP with that serial. I know you can connect to a VPN and do it that way, but with the amount of people I see on various sites using cracked av’s i doubt everyone is using vpns. Just curious why people use them when you can be tracked. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I’ve never understood it. Thanks

it would be too much effort and take too many resources to attempt to prosecute updates on a cracked AV. also, how could they prove it’s cracked?. people have been using cracked programs for too many years, and I’ve never heard of a prosecution based on the type of evidence that could be gotten from updating a cracked program. the most that happens is if the program is improperly cracked, is the serial gets revoked, and the program gets disabled until a new serial is entered, and the user properly follows the procedure to disallow it from happening again, usually that involves putting the proper URLs in your host file, among other things, like changing certain registry entries.

I used trial resets instead of cracks in the past.
For eg, Avira Premium suite 30 day trial can be downloaded from their official site.
There’s no limitations. After the 30 days is over, I use the trial reset downloaded from here, to extend it to another 30 days.
Its troublesome, but effective. No need to worry about blacklisted keys.
