Unreal engine games on Windows 8.1 Pro x64 error 0xc000007b

August 6th, 2016

Good day guys, I have Windows 8.1 Pro x64 and whenever I try to run games with unreal engine like Coma Mortuary, A Story about my Uncle, Ether One and Lili Child of Geos I get error 0xc000007b. These games don’t have the Win64 binaries like Outlast which has the same engine and I can play just fine with win64 executable.
I ran dependencywalker and it says that the following files are missing :
API-MS-WIN-CORE-KERNEL32-PRIVATE-L1-1-1.DLL
API-MS-WIN-CORE-PRIVATEPROFILE-L1-1-1.DLL
API-MS-WIN-SERVICE-PRIVATE-L1-1-1.DLL
API-MS-WIN-CORE-SHUTDOWN-L1-1-1.DLL
EXT-MS-WIN-NTUSER-UICONTEXT-EXT-L1-1-0.DLL
IESHIMS.DLL
Did a little bit of google’ing and eventually ended up in a post in M$oft site, they say that it’s a reported issue with Windows 8.1 in terms of those dependencies but refuse to work on them saying to contact the software developer. With this being said is there any work around that I can use to play those games (other than installing Windows 8)? It seems that getting the win64 binaries would fix, but these games only have Win32 binaries sadly. Can anyone help me?
Thanks in advance
