Unlocking an at&t samsung galaxy s2 to work in india

hi all,
a friend of mine bought an s2 and its locked.i live in india and i want to use it here with my local network dont know how to unlock it….plz help me with the unlock process

You cannnot unlock it without an AT&T SIM AND you’re on AT&T’s network. IF you have one and you’re on AT&T’s network you can use Chainfire’s SIM unlock or GalaxyS unlock from the Android market to get the unlock code for AT&T. After that you can use any GSM SIM you wish. Though for you it looks like it’s not going to be possible.
