you have to create a new partition and store your data there
what you want, can’t be done
Answer #2
Yep, make a new partition, put all your stuff there, format the partition with your OS, and you’re set.
That’s the only way, aside from another hdd or burning to disc.

Is there a partitioning software for windows 7 i tryed Acronis and Paragon Acronis cant work on Win7 Paragon cant work on 64bit
Answer #11
Windows Vista and Windows 7 allow you (in disc management) to resize an active partition. (Even the OS partition while its in use) Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Disc Management > Right click your C:\ and click “Shrink”. Enter the amount you want to reduce it by (Enter how large you want the new partition to be) and click “Shrink”.
In the new un-partitioned space, right click and create a new partition.
Simply save your data into there.
Answer #12
I have 37GB free but i can only shrink for 18 GB i need 37 free on the new partition. Does it first shrink for 18 then allows you to create the new partition.
Or should i just choose Action > Create VHD “Virtual Hard Drive” But iam worried since its virtual that the content wont then get erased.
