Tivo Series 2, can I mod it?

I have a Tivo 2 series that I think is one of there first generation models. The model number is TCD24004A. It has a 2 usb ports in the back and it doesn’t have a ethernet port only a phone jack. I was wondering if there was a third party firmware or service I could use to flash it with to get free DVR recording? I was also wondering if there was a way to play back up movies on it with divx encoding? Should I just get rid of it on eBay or should I just trash the SOB?

No one knows anything about modding Tivo’s I’ve found a hacking guide for some perks but nothing about a third party service or DIVX playback. anyone??
