Steam Games Not Starting At All

hey everyone, i just started having problems with my steam games, CSS and Hl2:DM. both of the games are legit, but when i click the startup icon, it just says preparing to launch “XXXX”….. after about 3 seconds it goes away and nothing happens. i’ve already formatted my hard drive, deleted my clientregistry.blob. verified the game cache. but still nothing it working for me . if anyone has any ideas please tell me. thanks in advance…

had the very same problem myself,
had to back up my .gcf files, completely obliterate steam directory, download steam, reinstall and copy back gcfs. worked like a charm. hope this helps.

mmmk thank you very much . i’m trying it right now, i really hope it works, just spent 50$ on “Left 4 Dead” and i don’t want it to fail.
edit:i’m really smiling, still didn’t work, and they aren’t answering my support ticket, i’m gettting very impatient…
