Static noise
August 9th, 2016
So what is the next step? What should i do? Is it possible that there is something in my house causing my sound card or headphones to make this sound? Should i ask them to test pc again but with my headphones this time?
It would not be a bad idea to take your headphones to the shop and try them on your PC there.
Sometimes florescent lamps and lights, even CFL light bulbs can cause audio interference problems..You could move things around or try your PC somewhere else.
I’m sorry, which posts do you mean? If you refer to another thread please post the link here. New headphones?
I tried moving pc to few different rooms but it didn’t help.
I had some troubles with front pa a few months ago and i also mentioned noise, tried to help. Yeah headphones are few moths old.
I will do it then, i will bring my headphones with me tomorrow.
So this happens to two PCs? Does this happen only through your new headphones? Is your line in and mic inputs muted?
Yes two PCs, one is old cheap pc and there you can hear noise but it is very low. The other one is my new pc and there noise is much higher and it is very annoying. I tried multiple headphones but it is the same (one of them i tested at my friend’s PC and we couldn’t notice any noise). The guy from pc service said that he also tried multiple headphones on my PC but he could’t notice any noise. I disabled everything beside speakers.
I went to pc shop today to check if my pc is there. I couldn’t bring it home because i had more stuff to carry. I asked them if i can test my pc with my headphones there but they said that i can’t. I bring my pc to them in shop which is in one town and then they send it to PC service which is in another town and that is how it works…
I hope that i can believe guy from pc service, when he said it is nothing wrong with PC, because they do service for multiple big pc shops in my country. Audio interference… Motherboard in the new PC is Asus z97-a. Is that easy to catch some audio interference? I guess it has some protection against that right?
About headphones i used to test my pc. Two of them are cheap earphones that i use with my smartphone so i am not sure how much they are reliable. Third ones are Razer electra, they should be reliable but still who knows.
What catch my eye is if you look at my motherboard specs (asus z97-a) it says audio amplifier. Is it possible that my headphones make very little noise but then it gets amplified and that is why i hear a little noise at my old pc and a lot of noise on the new one? That doesn’t explain why there is no noise at my friend’s PC (i don’t know model of his motherboard but i think it is some cheaper model). Maybe there is but we didn’t pay enough attention.
Does this make any sense? I am sorry for my bad English.
Well, post back if you have your PC and the problem persists and you can test it. Meanwhile, post product information about your headphones if you can. Back to your old PC, which is the proper master volume setting you can set your PC without hearing the problem? Does the static increase/decrease in relation to the volume setting?
Do you get the problem if you plug the phones into the speaker jack at rear of PC ?
What sort of sound codec do you have…Is it realtek high definition, realtek AC97 or what ?
You did something last time to reduce the noise?…What?
I was editing my post and i didn’t see that you posted.

I can’t hear any noise when audio level is on 0 or you press mute. Static noise is constant so changing volume doesn’t change level of static noise.
I am not sure if i can explain it in a right way. It is like you have two sources of sound. If you play song you can hear melody and there is noise in background, you pause song but there is still noise. All i need to do is to plug headphones and there is noise without playing any sounds on my PC. Same thing on my new pc but that noise is much louder.

I am talking about my new PC. Same problem at both jacks. It is realtek high definition. I uninstalled realtek drivers and let windows to install generic ones, noise was reduced, but still there.

Scratching head,…
Try it without anything plugged in that you don’t need, including any speakers, mics, line inputs usb devices, printers even.
It sounds like you are picking up interference from the environment you are in….seeing as it doesn’t happen elseware like at the repair shop.
Wireless devices such as keyboard, mice and even a router could possibly be the culprit.
You mentioned an audio amplifier? It definitely can create this problem, when you have your PC again disable it. Also see what your CPU usage during playback.
