Split Windows ISO into disks?

January 23rd, 2020

Hey guys,
I was wondering if it is possible to split the win7 iso into multiple cd-r disks?
I live quite a ways away from any store and i only have cd-r disks.

Answer #1
Use Winrar to split them it into smaller sizes and burn to the cds. Once you get it where you want you can unrar the iso and have them burn it. You wont actually be able to split it so you can install Windows with out burning it to a dvd or a USB.

I have the ISO already , what I mean is break the image into multiple CDs . Like when you get a big game and it says insert disk 2 … Insert disk 3 .. Etc .I’m doing a fresh install but want to split the iso into 700mb CDs
Answer #3
not possible with a windows installation disc. You can’t split up the setup.

Maybe you could put it on a USB stick to install it.
Answer #7
I would do as suggested and put on usb stick if you have one of them. Rufus is what you would use to do that. Good luck!

^Indeed you probably could do it with dism too, since the installer is basically two WIM files and the setup file. At OP: You could edit the iso and remove content, I’d suggest vlite for this as it leaves you with great freedom at which things you’ll remove and which not, similar programs have restrictions for that. If you wish, I can do this for you, you’ll just need to give me the Win7 edition you’d like (home / professional / ultimate), the version (32 or 64-bit) and the usage you’d like to do with the operating system.
