Sound Card is gone, whats going on?
August 5th, 2016
First, my monitor wouldnt even turn on, it just stayed on standby. I fixed this by taking the RAM stick, and putting it into channel 2 instead of 1 (makes no sense i know!)
Now, after i got the monitor working again, I found that my speaker wasn’t loading up, so I checked the audio devices dialogue in control panel, and its sayin that I have NO AUDIO DEVICE.
My one true love, is music, and being able to hear it, so without a soundcard Im buggered. I really need some help here ASAP. I dont care about games and other stuff, music comes before everything except family.
Thanks in advance
Edit: in device manager, I can see the CREATIVE SB AUDIGY device driver, yet I still have no sound, or any control over audio.
Surely someone knows whats going on. I just installed the latest compatible SB audigy drivers, now i can control the volume sliders, but i still get no sound at all.
I REALLY, REAAALLLY need some help quickly. I would use the onboard HD audio, but its pants compared to my Creative card.

Pull the card and put it in another slot. Or pull the card and clean the gold finger connections with a small piece of brown paper like from a grocery bag, folded over to clean both sides at once. Use it like it was sand paper and swipe the gold fingers 2 or 3 times down the length and put it back into the same slot.
What did you mean exactly by finally mounting the HDD in the actual case?
check you speaker out connection on the back of the cpu case. maybe you misplaced the output plug. if you have SB the blue one
Thanks for the replies, i’ll try cleaning the connections on the card then. Lol the HDD thing that I said was because I bought an external hard drive a while ago, but the case was faulty, so I had to take it out of its enclosure, bypass the usb connection and use the proper SATA II cable (luckily it was just a normal HDD inside a USB case lol), now, after about 2 years, Ive screwed the HDD to the inside rack of the towerbox, because before it was just sitting on the table beside an open sided PC that turned out to be dusty as hell inside!
, I have a soundblaster card, not too old, but old enough to be discontinued on creatives site. I have a front panel which says ‘LIVE DRIVE II’ on it (came with the card second hand). According to everest, the actual card is a ‘CREATIVE AUDIGY PLAYER (SB0092)’. I do have a blue jack socket on the card (plus ‘orange’, ‘green’ and ‘black’), but that is for the line in. Ive always used the line out which is green for me.
At the minute, Im forced to use my ‘Realtek HD audio’ motherboard soundcard, which sounds crackly and distorted as anyones guess. I cant even run winamp without the onboard card failing to produce a crisp sound.
Oh yea, when i said ‘my speaker wasnt loading up’ I meant my speaker icon, sorry!
