[Solved]Some help with QoS
December 16th, 2013
my router has this QoS option ..so i was f#@%ing around with it and ended up with this:
ok so i had some problems with the images on the first one i have used the IP the router gave to me PC as remote adress ,traffic type:any and i chose the grp that i will later (on image 2) change to 40% minimum bandwith…
Would it work? i don’t really know if the remote adress is what i think it is
Provide the router’s model as well as normal sized screenshots,Postimage doesn’t resize images by default,Just don’t mess with the
“resize” option and it’ll be fine.
the router is a crappy netfaster IAD and here are edit: imgs didnt work again :p
found a way http://postimage.org/image/rzy0do3o/

but uhm… i used adult filter on so there might be some others pics below for browsing.. not family friendly
Dude those screenshots are even smaller then before!
Your obviously doing something wrong here,Better use lulzimg and use the BB code link after uploading:
http://lulzimg.com/
check my post again xD
edit: oh crap and i just noticed the adds ,i should remove the links i posted i think :O
Nice pics,I liked
Back on topic,I think your going the wrong way about it,Your suppose to be limiting your friend’s IP to X bandwidth level!
Also,You should use the EF option and uncheck the “enable more” box so he wouldn’t be able to have more bandwidth than the minimum.
But it might be better to take the more adult approach on this,Talk to him about it! You could also try to convince him to limit his upload/download speeds so it wouldn’t have a negative effect on your connection.
and i should put my friend’s IP on the remote adress? about the adult approach.. i told him that his torrent program is draining everything but he doesnt believe me

Does not sound like a friend to me. Torrent programs allow you to set the bandwidth. Talk to him and tell him to limit his bandwidth.
Other than that, if you share your internet with him, and he don’t listen to you, then that’s your fault.
roommates its 50/50 but my questions still holds! is the IP my router gives me called remote address?^^

Yep,Also,Might be a good idea to change “IP Range” to “Single IP” or similar since your not gonna limit an actual range,But not a must.
Back to the adult approach,If he’s living in your house and you pay for the connection then you shouldn’t let it slide,Your house,Your rules,Be persistent and stand up for yourself.
Edit: Just saw the roommates part,Why do you live with someone who doesn’t respect you? I don’t get it. Also just so you know,In some countries,Downloading torrents from public trackers can get you in major legal trouble!
we are friends and students at a university and this been going on for 4-5 days i had np with it but swtor is coming out soon imma need my connection
Sounds like this friend is stepping all over you,You really should stand up for yourself,Or move out.
Not sure what you mean with your last question,But again your suppose to be putting his ip,Not yours,Check the router’s DHCP/Connected
clients table or similar and you’ll have it,You don’t need to physically access his PC for it.
meh, when i use warez he doesnt complain when he uses torrents i dont, the diff is i know a few things about PCs
edit
and ye i know his IP his mac his everything… not a total nub i just didnt know what remote address was/is
Considering the “local address” is set to “this router” it’s likely that the “remote address” should contain the IP or IP range
of local router users of which you wanna restrict bandwidth of,But I wonder,What other options do you have? (On local I mean)
none, well thanks for the help m8 ^^
ah on local, well theres MAC , IP range and any, but the default one that already existed on EF option was on this router..so..im guessing it only means routers or servers
