(SOLVED) How to generate a report of the contents of my HDD

July 29th, 2013

Hi, I need a report of my hard disk in the following format:
Directory Number of folders Number of files Space occupied by all the files
For example:
Documents and settings 34 folders 7,872 files 5,504,405,839 bytes
Windows1,843 folders 11,452 files 3,822,919,225 bytes
and so on…..
Is there a way to automatically create that report? and save it to a file?
Thanks

i don’t know if this is exactly what you want, but try WinDirStat. it examines a disk and gives a visual representation of the data color coded by file type. It also displays a tree map that lists the folder, and the number of files and size of that folder. Its pretty cool, and you can email a copy of the report.

Well, not what I need. I’m looking for a tabular report, something I could export to excel for example, or even a txt format would be ok
