[Sol]Does album art saved in itunes stay with the music file

I spent a long time the other day finding album art images on google and then adding them to the corresponding albums in itunes. (I wanted album art on every song)
So in itunes i right clicked the song (or album) then ‘get info’ the i dragged the album art from google images to album art part in itunes.
All my album art is fine.
I was wondering iff the album art is now permanently with the music file.
All the songs are in ‘My music’ , i dragged and dropped them to itunes so i could put them on my iphone.
