Software for income expenditure log

Hey guys,
i am searching for a software where i can save my daily expenditure, weekly/monthly income, etc to keep track of my expenditure..
but my issue is, i dont know what such software are called or even the category of such things..
can u please tell me what are those called, and incase if you know any good software to perform such work, can u please tell me its name

I agree I use Microsoft excel as well it is a basic spreadsheet program that will allow you to input various mathematical functions. If you are talking about budgeting ur business expenses then perhaps something like quickbooks might help. If it something like simple household budgeting then I would prob use Excel ur search download.com for budget planning from there you could prob modify your search to something more appropriate and when you find the name of potential software come back here and search for it …. These are just my thoughts

no doubt excel is good for such things, but there everything is manual,
i mean i have to create new thing every month, then special formulae etc for it..
i am looking for a easy use software which i can use, as well as my sister can use too..
i can take care of excel formulae, but i dont think my sis can do all that.
looking at quicken, will let u know,
