Software for burning films to DVD?

Which software would you guys recommend to burn dvd files to a disc with? I have films in mkv and mp4 and want to put them on a DVD disc, but apart from Nero I dont know any other software that would be good also, I want to convert these films to DivX for playback on a dvd player

The main question has clearly been answered, But I would like to point out that instead of converting em, You’d be better off just buying an HD Media Player, This will save you lots of time time as you wouldn’t need to convert anything, And you’d maintain the original video quality too!

Both ConvertX and Freemake Converter will burn to a dvd that will play in ANY dvd player. But if your dvd player can play data dvds then use Freemake to convert to divx then burn as data. But as suggests a media player would be far easier and no need to burn or convert so you would have the best quality file offers.
