i installed sims2 on my windows 7 laptop…
when i tried to play it says there are known compatibility problems with windows7…
the game wont start
is there any solution for that?

Did you try it in Windows XP SP2 compatibility mode?

If you run regedit from the start menu, have a look @
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
and look for anything relating to the Sims, then delete them.
Also, a search of the registry for Sims may get some more results too. You can then delete them, then the directories & try a new install.
Did you upgrade or clean install? Sometimes an upgrade can cause a few issues with software. The latest build 7127 had more game compatability too.

Then re install and try again..

it was a clean install… there was never a sims game on this pc… not even a maxis game…

Yup.. I tried installing that game into my windows 7 some time ago and faced that same problem. All I had to do was this..
