Running a Server

August 5th, 2016

I’d like to run a server at home, to host the printing for the house, but i need some help setting it up, like, what server software? Server 2008?
It’ll be run off an old retired box.
If anyone has any questions to help me, or ideas, please post them. thanks

Windows Server 2008 is based on Vista but is about 20% faster. Even so, considering it is an old box, I recommend Server 2003 (as it’s based on XP)… start off by download either; it’s your choice
***EDIT***:
Actually, you’d be better off getting Windows Home Server. It was deisgned for what you want to do and it much much much easier to use….
