RS Alternative

August 4th, 2016

I think there are some threads about this topic, but I can’t find any real change for my RS.com.
Because now I use two RS.com accounts, because I download alot from the sites below and right now they still use RS the most. I download tv episodes and movies the most (regular format, no HD). So I’m thinking of changing one account in june because it stops then. It’s most because of the new RS daily limit that I want to change.
I use these site the most:
http://www..org
http://renegadearmy.net/index.php
http://www.nilland.com

You can use Megashare for Megashares, I thought it was the same
I also use Firefox, internet download manager and flashget. So the new alternative should atleast be compatible with these.
I have two internet connections:
1) @20MB => I can get 2.8MB – 4MB with this one with rapidshare.
2) @4MB => I can get 400Kb – 800Kb with this one with rapidshare.
So could you click on the best alternative to Rapidshare for you and explain why.

Answer #1
RS is good for me
i dont use other hosts .
Answer #2
Megaupload is your second best bet. But still you can find whatever you want in rapidshare.
Answer #3
I would personally go with mediafire to upload and to download as a free user however I really don’t mind RS and sites are too use to it now it will be a long time before there is a change.
Answer #4
Megaupload or Netload
Answer #5
you need to add megashares to that list seeing as that is what loads of people use
Answer #6
Take megaupload, lots of stuff on there too and MediaFire if you want to upload, if I’m not mistakin’, you can remote upload to lots of mirrors from mediafire.
Answer #7
I vote for mediafire.
Answer #8
i say megaupload. people are using it bit more now..
Answer #9
Rapidshare is the best, megaupload would be second.
Answer #10
Megaupload is good – i’d suggest you get that one. If you get enough downloads, i think, you can earn points – similar to rapidshare.
Answer #11
If you heard latest news then you would know RS has turned to be dodgy. But yeah RS is the one that has the most stuff so if you want something most likely it will be there. However Megaupload, MediaFire, and Megashares have a lot of stuff too.
Answer #12

Haha Megaupload’s 12-0 against everyone!
Answer #17
OK so I think that Megaupload is the best next thing to buy.
I was gonna choice between Megashares and Megaupload anyway so I think it will become Megaupload. My account expires in june so I will buy a megaupload one instead of renewing this one.
Does megaupload work good with flashget and internet download manager??
Answer #18
Mediafire.

not necessarily no. they had to create their own file manager for that. I prefer megashares myself.
Answer #20
I used the free service from megashares and from megaupload and I found that megashares gives me a really slow speed.
Answer #21
Megaupload or Mediafire
Answer #22
I curently bought a Megashares account for 500 links, because I bought a X360 and most games are uploaded here on that upload service so that was the logic step right now.
Answer #23
MegaUpload
The only reason why RapidShare is number one consists in its legacy, and something that Physics knows as critical mass: once a certain number of people bought a Premium account there, they started demanding that others provide RS links because it was more convenient to get the files as a Premium user, which led to more and more content being posted on RS, more people signing up …
From a rational standpoint, though, MegaUpload should be the first choice. RapidShare already lost several trials in court (the reason why free uploads expire after ten downloads now), and it might be only a question of time until the law-abiding devote subjects of Germany enforce even stricter measurements against copyright violations. MegaUpload in the wild East of Asia (Hong Kong) will probably not have to cope with similar sorrows any time soon.
More important, however, is the fact that MegaUpload offers lifetime licenses — for three years of RapidShare (during promotions only two), one can buy MU forever, making an end to all the hassle and hunt for Premium points, re-uploads, etc.
If we were smart … but we aren’t. We are greedy, spending hours and days of our valuable time uploading and posting just to get a few lousy points or petty pennies, to extend the accounts that allow us to get some stuff the following month. Furthermore, every time another file sharing host (there are approximately 500 already) offers a few cents more, the same idiots change to that one and expect us to pay for yet another host so they can cash in a few bucks from referrals. It’s simply ridiculous.
There are two ways to always obtain one’s software for free, without too much manual intervention and waiting times:

  • Instead of using the same host for all files/uploads/posts (until another host offers a penny more), let’s use all the file sharing servers out there. Tools like the (E)lephant take the hassle out of manual clicking and get the files conveniently as a free user while we do more interesting things.
  • We all use the same file sharing host for everything, so that the purchase of only one Premium account is sufficient. Financially speaking, the most reasonable choice would be MU instead of RS, because MU offers lifetime licenses whereas the others do not — if somebody knows of more that do, please don’t hesitate to correct me.

The only drawback of MU is the format of their links, which make the automatic pickup of copied links by download managers cumbersome, but once a sufficient number of customers demand a real link format ending in a file name and extension, they will probably hava no objection against a more convenient format, given the fact that the (E)lephant & Co. circumvent the current protection just as easily.
Thank you for your attention and have a pleasant day.

Answer #24
thanks for the info , I do know that MU is better but it is like you said. If most of the uploads are on RS then thats the one that most people will buy a premium account for. I switched one of my account from RS to MS and when my other account of RS expires I will be changing to MU. Because I’m really tired of the low download limit of RS.
