Replaced Motherboard; No Display
August 4th, 2013
I think you should have bought a new laptop =/
Sounds to me like the mobo was installed improperly, or
you fried more than just the mobo (if u have discreet graphics).
many reasons facing this problem. RAM, GPU, Contact with Local Hardware engg. 1st Check it then Buy MB or Any Parts.
Well, the guy who is repairing it for me has his own computer repair store. I mean, you’d think he would know what’s wrong with it. I connected the port hub with too much power. The laptop.shut down and wouldn’t turn on for a minute. After a while, I tried to power it on and it did successfully. But I was.an idiot.and reconnected the port.hub thinking the laptop shut off for another reason. After that, it turned on but the screen wouldn’t display anything, after a while, it just stopped turning on.
I’d rather not dump money into repairing this laptop. I just got a job and soon will invest into a more efficient laptop. I just.can’t wait long enough, that’s why I want this laptop repaired.
Wait, isn’t the GPU built-into the motherboard?
Wait, isn't the GPU built-into the motherboard?
most are, but not all
and the mainboard is basically the laptop so you should have replaced it with a new one to be sure
you try connecting a monitor ?
your repair guy has no lappy to test the CPU in, or no CPU to try in yours ?
I’d say the chances are better that you got a bad mainboard, not that the CPU is bad
got a link to the mainboard you purchased ?
model of the lappy ?
Toshiba Satellite L655D-S5050
Motherboard – A000076380
The repair guy said he doesn’t have a backup CPU to test out. the replacement cpu I bought comes in today. I hope it works, or I’ll be pissed.
