Release dates for Ebooks

I am interested to buy the book entitled Inheritance (Eragon). It will be released on 8th of November 2011.
Will the ebook edition release on the same day or how long it takes to be released?

it varys greatly by author. Some authors release ebooks at the same time as the hardback, some hold off until the paperback is released
for this particular book, Amazon is listing a kindle edition for release on the same date as the hardback

It depends very much on how long it takes one of the groups to get a DRM free copy/strip the DRM and report it. Usenet is pretty good at this sort of stuff and I expect a relatively high profile release like this will be out quickly (maybe within a week) but you never know, there could be delays for all sorts of reasons.
