Recommend a good media player?

October 4th, 2019

I am looking to purchase a media player (something like WD TV), but I have heard bad things about the western digital TVs. Does anyone have any recommendations on any media players? I have A LOT of movies so it would be great if it could have 1tb or more of space Smile
Thanks.

KMPlayer 10/10 works for most file types

Wait.. Build a htpc, slap in dual tuners. And you will be a gooden, no file converting, save power by turning off your main pc while downloading, Remote file server, Remote ftp, Remote potato ( Scheudle and stream recordings ), media center master ( IMDB and TV DB fetching).
Just ask and I will get some specs and a full software list if you want.

Sorry, I may be calling it the wrong thing. But I meant a media player that you can place media files in and play them on your TV.

An AVERMedia TV card is decent, I had one years back, the only reason I got rid of it was because, in my own idiocy, I left it on the window sill while stripping down my PC one day, and it fell out the window and landed in a bucket of water. Unlucky or what?
But it was a very good tuner/media player, it was only about 50 too.

Im using the Astone Media Gear AP-110D (with remote control) which uses my ethernet network and can access any computer and even my NAS drives and plays the files from there, can add a USB Wireless N dongle to it and use that to access the network also supports USB drives..
It also gets updates from the net and can play any file. even 1080p movies, MKV, FLV, H.264 etc including subtitle files…. I havent come across a video/audio yet that it couldnt play..
HDMI 1.3 output and also can connect via RCA
Cost me AU$80, down side for alot of ppl is that its a Australian company, not sure if they provide power cords to support other countries power…
Input power is 12V 2A
