I use to live in Fort Lauderdale, off the Intracoastal by Las Olas near A1A. Damn it, I should have stayed there. It’s a great place to live. I kind of don’t understand what the hell you’re talking about but I’ll try to decipher your words and try to help you out. My advice, don’t convert a DVD to AVI. Convert it to MKV or MP4 H.264/AVC, the standard these days. You’ll get better quality and compression with a 720p, and 1080p. AVI is dead. But then again, a DVD doesn’t have a 720p resolution. It is 480p so I can’t understand how you can get 720p from a DVD. You can only get that from a Blu-ray. What do you mean by 3 years to do this. 3 years to do what? Do you mean you been using Fair Use for 3 years and uploading the converted AVI to RS for other people to download? RS is definitely useless now, no question about that. I lost everything I posted over the years to those RS bastards, so I think you did too. That sucks doesn’t it? These days, use friendly file hosters like Billion Uploads & Zippyshare. But then again, who knows how long they’ll stay in business. File Hosters these days come and go faster than I change shirts. If you have a lot of movies, consider using the Torrents in combination with a Seed Box. That will last forever; well, for a very very long time, at least until you close your account. Those Seed Box companies have been in business for years. Plus, they’re faster than the file hosters. Using the Fair Use wizard to divide, I think you mean a dual layer DVD. That’s no problem. After you rip a dual layer DVD, the parts can be joined when you convert to MKV or MP4.
Of course you can’t convert a 480p to a 720p video. No, I take that back. Technically it is possible to upscale 480p to 720p using specialized software but I wouldn’t recommend doing that because the produced video’s quality will suck. So, to make a long story short, instead of using the Fair Use Wizard, use SlySoft AnyDVD with Clone DVD to rip the DVD to your hard drive, then use a program such as Handbrake to convert that to MP4 or MKV. Forget about AVI and dump the Fair Use Wizard. I hope this helps because I got a headache now.

I personally grab DIMENSION for day to day shows so go with that, anything I wish to keep is 2gb plus 2HD etc, it depends on your storage space though and what you are watching it on, if watching on laptop or something like that the AFG is Ok but gets pixelly sometimes.
