Question regarding subtitles & DVDFab and or ConvertXtoD

I’ve obtained seasons 1-3 from http://www.google.com?t=14964226& and used DVDFab9 to convert for ripping purposes. Here’s the problem there’s no subtitles when foreign languages are being spoken. I’m not completely new to the prospect of ripping dvd’s but I’ve never ripped anything that was so dependent on dialog. Within my ripped folder I have the VIDEO_TS which consists of the various .BUP, .IFO, .VOB files as expected but the AUDIO_TS folder is empty. I have no issues when playing the video and hearing sound but I have to have the subtitles when the foreign languages are spoken. I’m not sure what I am doing wrong? Any help would be appreciated as I’m wrapping up season 1 and ready to burn season 2…this time hopefully with the subtitles. Thanks in advance for any help offered.

Looking at that topic…It doesn’t seem to mention that there are any subtitles in it, as far as I could see..?
If you were watching it on TV originally, would there be subs?
If there are subtitles, they can be muxed (added) to the main file or or they use a separate file with an extension such as .srt. If you want to know what’s in a file, have a look with Mediainfo….A subtitle stream would be listed as ‘text’.

Yes if it was being watched on tv there would be subtitles for all the foreign parts. I guess I assumed that because this was labeled as a dvdrip that the subtitles on the DVD were included. I was able to find the streams for seasons 1 & 2 and the timing is correct now the only problem is that is displays “all” the dialog not just the foreign parts. I guess if I can’t get a more specific answer on how or where to get the foreign only subtitles this will have to do. thanks for the response.

TS AUDIO is always blank …if subtitles are not hardcoded into the video ,then they will be in files with suffix .srt can u find any .tx or .srt files in the rip ?

I think you’re a little confused here. A dvdrip is telling you the source it came from is a dvd. It’s not a complete dvd as you seem to think it is. What you’re after is a dvd iso file. What you have here is files ripped from dvd. If they’ve removed other languages and subtitles then they can’t be found in these files. My suggestion is try the subtitle sites like subscene and see if you can find the subs you’re wanting and then use convertXtodvd or whatever to add subtitles to it. But i’m surprised that subtites that should be hard coded aren’t there.
