PSP password change without knowing it
August 7th, 2016
If I restore to Factory settings will that change the firmware?
If anyone could help id be really greatfull.
You coul re-flash the PSP, that should work…
~Blaze
resetting the factory settings will not change the firmware, as the psp has no other firmware to revert to. although i dont think a factory reset will change the password, what you may have to do is what blaze said i.e re-flash the firmware.
if you dont know how to do this then the easiest route is to use whats called a pandoras battery and a magic memory stick, have a look around there are about a hundred tutorials on this. Search for a magic memory stick creator this saves a lot of hassel.
cheers chris
p.s a magic memory stick generally speaking has to be a sony memory card for the psp that supports magic gate, to be on the safe side i would use one of those although i might get flamed for saying that. A 512mb stick is v.cheap now and after flashing the firmware you can format it and use it as normal
any problems just ask!
Restore default settings resets the password, and if it asks for password after that it should be 0000.
Restoring the factory settings worked thank you so much. Ill explain to you why I was so rushed with this im constantly in and out off hospital and I wanted to have it all sorted before im back in, cheers to you all.
