PS3 instead of a super pc?

i’ve had this plan about getting a pc with this specs

Core i7(2.66)
3GB of RAM
500Gb HDD
DVD/RW
geforce 9xxx
20″ LCD

and some blah blah!
but lately, i’ve been thinking that i could actually settle for a mediocre pc and a PS3?
that pc (corei7) would cost around $1000 in india. but a core 2 duo pc and a PS3 would cost less than that!
also gaming is better on the ps3!
config like

Core 2 duo @ 2.93ghz
3gb RAM
320Gb HDD
DVD/RW
20″ LCD
Geforce 8xxx.

so the main questions are – 1.core i7 PC or core 2 duo with PS3?
2.Is a decent LCD good enough to play with the PS3? thanks mates

Pc will have more games + you could download em from here for free
Ps3 has better exclusives …
Btw … if u choose PC … take a Ati GFX card with Dx11 Compatible

currently i have a Pentium 4 pc. (i guess my great grandfather got it during the first world war )
i’m sure to get a pc.. but if i go for a gaming pc, and of course for that ATI card.. its gonna be a big hole in my pocket.. those DX 11 cards cost $500 upwards here! i can get a full console for that $500! besides i don’t have any prob in buying games
