Answer #1
never used a PS3
any settings in the PS3 related to resolution or video ? (1366 x 768 is your best resolution if you can set it to that)
might be the TV is mis-adjusted, check the color setting for that input
if your Dynex is like my samsung each input has it’s own settings
Answer #2
Go to the settings on XMB menu and scroll down to Display Settings and click on RGB Full Range (HDMI) and change it from ‘Limited’ to ‘Full’
You will notice a difference in brightness
If that didn’t work, then click on the last setting option ‘Deep Color Output (HDMI)’ and choose ‘Off’ instead of Automatic.

Try to make the saturation a bit higher on your TV
Answer #6
seeing the menu shows OK it sounds like it’s a console problem, not the TV
you changed the PS3 “Video Output Settings” to HDMI, or it change automatically ?

Well with the PS3, you’d don’t have to change anything.
After a hard video reset, it will automatically choose the best options.
The way I would tackle this situation is:
1. Change the HDMI cable and test (borrow a friends one that is working).
2. Change the TV and test (maybe a friends place of a LCD TV of course).
3. If all else fails, PS3 video fault, the worst case you can have.
As its a PS3, its fairly easy to figure out what is the culprit.

As Dragon said, I think it is the cable too. Try another one. The problem should be solved
